For those planning regional routes, the good connection is beneficial: From the north and south, Bad Kissingen can be reached via the A7 with the exits Hammelburg/Bad Kissingen or Bad Kissingen/Oberthulba; from the west, the A3 leads to Biebelrieder Kreuz and then continues on the A7; from the east, the A70 or A71 with the exit Bad Kissingen are relevant. Overall, the range from a hearty breakfast to regional à la carte cuisine to the experience buffet with live cooking covers common culinary preferences and fits well with a relaxing wellness stay or a productive conference program.
Rooms, Amenities, and Comfort for Every Taste
Hotel Frankenland offers around 500 rooms in different categories, spread across the main building and annex. The basic amenities are consistent in all rooms: Wi-Fi, flat-screen TV, safe, a bottle of water upon arrival, small refrigerator, and balcony or terrace ensure comfort. Bathrobe, slippers, and hairdryer are also provided – practical for direct access to the spa areas. The classic rooms are located between the ground floor and the first floor and cater to guests who value solid amenities and good value for money. The upper floors feature the modernized comfort and superior rooms. The deluxe rooms on the 6th floor additionally score with air conditioning; another advantage is the exclusive breakfast in the Rôtisserie, which offers a quieter atmosphere and service comfort. Single room variants are available for solo travelers, often with the same floor area as double rooms, creating a spacious feeling. Families benefit from extra bed options depending on availability; the exact design depends on the chosen category. Those staying several days appreciate the small, thoughtful details such as the balcony for a break in the fresh air, the central yet quiet location, and the short distances to AquaWell and the restaurants. Check-in is usually possible from 3:00 PM, check-out until 11:00 AM; for special arrangements or high occupancy, there may be different regulations, so a quick inquiry before arrival is advisable. Guests with special requirements – such as accessibility, room location, or connecting doors – should communicate these wishes early so that the reservation team can check suitable options. For longer stays or workations, the combination of central location, secure Wi-Fi, and wellness infrastructure offers a pleasant change between work and relaxation. The overall picture: contemporary comfort at various levels of amenities, complemented by sensible services such as a 24-hour reception, laundry service, and several dining outlets in the house.
Wellness, AquaWell, and Sauna Worlds Overview
The AquaWell world of Hotel Frankenland is the heart for those seeking relaxation. Spanning around 3000 square meters, it features a heated indoor and outdoor pool, spacious relaxation areas, a separate sports swimming pool, and the diverse sauna worlds. The latter offer a spectrum from gentle to intense: bio sauna, steam sauna, classic Finnish sauna, Kelo earth sauna, and a bookable private sauna for short breaks for two. The private sauna in AquaWell is usually provided for a three-hour slot and a maximum of two people and can be requested through the AquaWell reception. Those specifically looking for treatments will find a wide portfolio of massages to beauty and cosmetic treatments in the FeelWell area (over 1000 square meters). This complements passive and active relaxation: relaxed swimming or a sauna infusion in the morning, an afternoon treatment, and an evening walk in the nearby spa park. Seasons play a minor role thanks to the heated pools, as the outdoor area can also be pleasantly used in winter. For the sporty, the sports swimming pool offers speed lanes; those who prefer peace will find separate relaxation zones. Conveniently, bathrobes and slippers are provided in the room, making the journey from the room to the spa uncomplicated. Additional services such as treatments should be scheduled early during high-demand weeks, such as holidays. Clear house rules ensure safety, regulating age and usage in the saunas. Overall, the wellness area impresses with its size, range of offerings, and the combination of water and heat experiences. This makes the hotel a good choice for classic wellness stays, for recovery after active nature days in the Rhön, and also for regeneration after intensive conference days.
Conferences, Events, and Capacities
As a conference and event venue, Hotel Frankenland is professionally equipped. The conference center includes 25 rooms over more than 2700 square meters and covers setups from small boardrooms to large plenary sessions. Examples: The Picasso hall with around 519 square meters accommodates up to 500 people, the forum totals about 450 square meters and accommodates up to 380 people; the panorama area can be used modularly and reaches about 190 square meters for up to 180 people. Additionally, rooms in the Aegir and Silesia villas and other salons of varying sizes are available. Rooms between 30 and 100 square meters are particularly suitable for workshops, while hybrid or large formats are realized in the halls with stage technology. The in-house catering is efficient: The team can cater for up to 1800 people per day. This makes multi-day conferences, galas, or company celebrations possible in a framework that offers short distances between plenary, breakouts, catering, and accommodation. Organizers benefit from local contacts and a fact sheet that consolidates room sizes and seating variants. For exhibition stands or product presentations, the larger halls provide sufficient ceiling height and flexible technology. The city center location facilitates evening programs: Whether a walk in the spa park, live music in the house, or a regional dinner in the Frankenstube – everything is quickly accessible. For deliveries and setups, the event team coordinates time slots and access; participants arriving by car can use the in-house underground garage. Those planning a wedding celebration or family anniversary will find suitable rooms from the festive hall to the stylish Rôtisserie, complemented by photo opportunities in the spa park. Overall, Frankenland offers a dense logistical package with robust capacities and professional service – a convincing advantage over pure city hotels or pure resort facilities.

We used this hotel for a wellness weekend with kids. Parking is often problematic if you don't have a parking space in the underground garage. The pool is small but very nicely decorated, unfortunately there's a bit too little space for loungers when it's full. The sauna area has a lot to offer and looks modern. Cozy little restaurant downstairs, all in all we felt comfortable even though it was quite busy during this themed weekend.

Great service, but unfortunately carpet in the rooms. What really doesn't work is the automatic ventilation that starts loudly at 7:00 AM throughout the hotel. The thermal bath is cold at 28 degrees.

Dear owners, dear manager. I don't want to write about a large and clean room and a very nice swimming pool, you indeed have that, everything is great. I want to congratulate you on this incredibly nice and attentive staff. Whether at the reception, in the dining room, the hotel bar, and even the cleaning staff were all great. Thank you for 4 lovely days in your hotel. We will come back. Please feel free to pass on the praise.

We stayed for one night at Hotel Frankenthal and each had a massage treatment, which unfortunately did not quite meet our expectations. The wellness and sauna area is very clean and inviting. We were in the sauna around 9 AM, which at that time was not fully heated yet – it would be nice if it could be used from opening time or a bit earlier. Our comfort room was tidy, but unfortunately not particularly cozy, as the mattresses were sagging. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Overall, we had a pleasant stay with some small suggestions for improvement.

Hotel Frankenland: At the beginning of August, I spent an extended weekend as a solo traveler in your hotel. From the reservation to my departure, I was extremely satisfied. A very nice, modern, and tasteful hotel, especially the entrance area was impressive. Very nice, friendly, helpful staff in all departments. Clean and quiet single room with a large balcony. Breakfast and dinner plus wines were very good. Short distances to the town and the spa park, wonderful for relaxing. I would gladly recommend it and would love to come back.
